Industrial protein powder

Industrial protein powder, also known as industrial hydrolyzed protein, industrial collagen protein, or industrial hydrolyzed gelatin, is characterized by its white powder (slightly yellowish) appearance, light weight, and easy solubility in water, resulting in a clear aqueous solution. Industrial protein exhibits excellent properties such as flocculation, moisturization, foaming, and adhesion, which has led to its wide applications in industries like leather tanning, electrolytic plating, fire fighting foam, fermentation, chemical fertilizer, construction, adhesives, and papermaking.
Description

Product Description

The process of preparing hydrolyzed protein involves the following steps: Leather waste is pretreated with alkali, followed by enzymatic hydrolysis to obtain collagen hydrolysate. Then, the collagen hydrolysate undergoes a series of processes including filtration, neutralization adjustment, evaporation and concentration, drying, and powdering to produce industrial protein powder.

The principle of hydrolysis is based on the fact that under alkaline conditions, the coordination ability of OH- with Cr+3 is stronger than that of collagen carboxyl groups with Cr+3, resulting in the separation of the generated precipitate from the collagen solution.

After cooling, alkaline protease is used to hydrolyze the collagen solution, breaking down the peptide bonds of collagen to produce hydrolyzed proteins with smaller molecular weights that are soluble in water and some amino acids.

Physical and Chemical Properties of Industrial Protein Powder

Industrial protein powder is primarily used as an additive in various animal feeds to increase nutrition and protein content. It can also be used as an additive in fire protection materials. The powder appears as a white or light yellow powder that is easily soluble in water and prone to moisture absorption, exhibiting strong adhesion after absorbing moisture. Chemically, it is a polypeptide, dipeptide, and complex amino acid substance derived from the hydrolytic degradation of collagen protein. It possesses the general properties of proteins. Its total nitrogen content is above 10.5%, with moisture content ≤5%, ash content ≤5%, total phosphorus content ≤0.2%, and protein content of over 80%.

Industrial gelatin is widely used in various products in industries such as boards, furniture, matches, feed, packaging, papermaking, textiles, silk, printing and dyeing, printing, ceramics, petroleum, daily chemicals, coatings, metallurgy, etc., and is the main growth among them. It has the functions of thickening, stabilizing, coagulating, blending, glazing, sizing, adhesion, and water fixation.
